Your task is:
- Form groups of five students, and each choose a different time period in Oscar Wilde’s life (The time periods are listed on the next page)
- Research Wilde’s life and personal context during this time
- An example reflection has been given. Read through the example and discuss it with your group, before constructing your own
- After this, individually create a 1000 word diary entry or reflection from the perspective of Oscar Wilde during your chosen time period. The minimum word limit is 500 words.
- Reform your group, and combine the diary entries to form a journal of Oscar Wilde’s life
You should attempt to make your reflections as individual as possible. Remember to include literary techniques, and you may choose to use quotes from his works. While the writing style in a diary entry is informal, only use colloquial language when it is appropriate. Make sure that you use correct structuring, and show evidence of sophisticated analysis and language.
